How Did COVID 19 Affect the Concert Industry?

How did COVID 19 affect the concert industry?

The world-wide pandemic skidded the music industry to a halt. From postponing album releases to shutting down rehearsal spaces and venues everyone suffered. The concert and live music industries were hit the hardest, hundreds of shows, performances and tours canceled, rescheduled or postponed world wide. Venue workers and music industry staff were suddenly left jobless and desperate. Fans were left fighting for refunds and searching for music outlets within their new quarantine bubbles. It is estimated that over 9 billion dollars have been lost in the concert and live music industries during the year 2020. That number continues to rise as more events are delayed in 2021. However, among the shredded tickets and empty seats people still found ways to connect and unite through music. While the world is still on the road to recovery, new changes may be in place for upcoming shows.
